Gerald Lee Myers

Gerald "Daddy Lee" Myers, 90, of Hagerstown, went home with the lord on Thursday, March 7th, at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village, Boonsboro.
Born, June 21, 1922 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Frances G. (Miller) and J. Fred Myers.
He was a 1940 graduate of Hagerstown High School and proceded to serve in the U.S. Army as a Tech-4 during WWII where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge.
Gerald was a Lifetime Member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211, Former President of Goodwill Athletic Association and former member of Washington County Am-Vets Post 10 and a past member of Church of the Holy Trinity in Hagerstown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Cora V. Myers, a daughter, Mary Frances Myers and husband Ronald, of Greencastle; adopted son Michael Lichtenberg, Jr, and wife Kelli of Hagerstown; two step daughters; Geneva Kline, of Hagerstown and Michaell DeLawter, of Cumberland a sister Doris Ellis, of Hagerstown, 4 grandchildren; David, Eric and Douglas Myers, step-granddaughter Judy Mcintyre and 11 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son Ronald Myers, two sisters; Jane and Phyllis Frye and one grandson Jeff Myers
Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, with Pastor Brad Reeves officiating, Military Honors by the Maryland State Honor Guard will follow.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday from 4-6 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown.
