Gilson Lamar Fellows, 80, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 9, 1930, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Edwin and Alta (Forrest) Fellows.

Mr. Fellows retired after 39 1/2 years of service as a repairman and crane operator for Lone Star Cement Co., Hagerstown.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church, Leitersburg and AARP.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elva D. (Orndorff) Fellows; four daughters, Linda Smith of Payson, Ariz., Laura Kendrick of Hagerstown, Lula Kinley of Waynesboro and Lisa Wolford of Hagerstown; one son, James Fellows of Coseytown, Pa.; two brothers, Edwin V. Fellows and George D. Fellows, both of South Paris, Maine; three sisters, Jane Pittman of Hagerstown, Joyce Mullins of Stanford, Ontario, Canada, and Mary McAuliffe of Greencastle, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter and four sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Alan Waddell officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
