Glenn Edward Miller

Glenn Edward Miller, 85, of Hagerstown, passed away, Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born August 8, 1930 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Walter Edgar and Mary (Summers) Miller. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his step mother, Ethel Leona (Klipp) Miller; his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Rosalie M. (Cordell) Miller; two brothers, Roger Miller and Major James Miller; one sister, Beverly Morrison.

Mr. Miller retired from Washington County National Bank where he served as executive vice president and treasurer. He previously held the positions of regional president for Suburban Bank of Maryland and vice president of the Hagerstown Trust Company.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Mr. Miller was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown. He was a founding member and the inaugural president of the Antietam Exchange Club, which was active in junior achievement. He was also a member of the Alsatia Club. In his younger days he played in the Hub City adult basketball league and through out his life was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.

Mr. Miller loved spending time with his family and is survived by two children, Glenn Edward Miller, II of Fairplay, Md. and Julie E. Bodwell and his son in law, Jonathan H. Bodwell of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one brother, Robert Miller; six grandchildren, Casey Lyn Miller, Jesse Glenn Layton, Gracen Lindsey Javage, Regan Debra Layton, Seren Rose LaTourette and Wade Miller; two great grandchildren, Adelina Maria Centeno and Kylar Ryan Javage; a sister in law, Judy Myers; many nieces and nephews and his three dogs, Little Bear, Poof and Willie who provided him with endless hours of love and joy.

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Ralph Campbell officiating.

Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown is assisting the family with the arrangements.
