Harrison Llewellyn Smith

Harrison Llewellyn Smith, Sr., 90, of Hagerstown, passed away, Monday, December 8, 2014 at his home.
Born November 11, 1924, in Clear Spring, Maryland, he was the son of the late, Mayette E. and Viola W. (Myers) Smith. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by one daughter, Vicki Kay Smith; four sisters, Wilma Robinson, Annabelle Mellott, Mary Elizabeth Braithwaite and Shirley Smith; two brothers, Mayette E. Smith, Jr and Frank Smith.
Mr. Smith retired from Statton Furniture Company with 48 years of service where he worked in the finishing department., during that time he also owned his own furniture refinishing business.
He was protestant by faith and a member of the A.A.R.P.
Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Dolores Elaine (Myers) Smith; one son, Harrison L. Smith, Jr. and wife, Shirley; two daughters, Linda L. Templon and husband, George Carol A. Ambrose-Leahy and husband, Mark; two step sons, Ronald E. Stevens and Timothy W. Stevens and wife Shirley; three step daughters, Judith E. Wade and husband Bill, Hazel "Mae" Rexrode and husband Pete, Mary Beth Schaeffer and husband, Troy; three brothers, Douglas Smith and his wife Gloria, Gary Smith and his wife Nancy and Robert Smith and his wife Barbara; three sisters, Betty Jane Harper, Helen Rhoton and Darlene Hodson; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; fifteen step grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Kibreab Gudeta officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
