Hazel Jean (Dawson) Grove, 85, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Julia Manor Health Care Center, in Hagerstown.
Born in Hagerstown, on March 8, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Margie (Sprankle) and John G. Dawson. In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles R. Grove; a son, Richard L. Grove; 6 sisters and 5 brothers.
She was a member of the Salvation Army and was an avid bowler.
Hazel was an owner operator of The First Inner City Indoor Flea Market for 20 years.
Hazel is survived by her son, Blaine E. Grove, Sr. and wife Susan; 4 grandchildren, Blaine E. Grove, Jr., Coty Grove and wife Ashley, Alex Grove and Alissa Anderson; 7 great grandchildren; and her brother, Gary Dawson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc. 1601 Pennsylvania Ave Hagerstown, MD 21742. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Major Butch Mallard will be officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hazel's name to the Salvation Army 534 W. Franklin St. Hagerstown, MD 21740.
