Helen Ann Fiedler

Helen Ann (Suleski) Fiedler, 88, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 at Ravenwood Lutheran Village, in Hagerstown.

Born May 25, 1922, in Avoca, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Steve and Josephine Suleski.

She was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Hagerstown. Helen was "Rosie the Riveter" with Mack Trucks in Plainfield, N.J., during World War II, where she met her loving husband of 64 years, Al Fiedler. She had also volunteered at Avalon Manor for over 20 years.

Helen retired from Sears after 23 years of service.

In addition to her husband, Al, she is also survived by two sons, Alfred S. Fiedler Jr. and wife Georgeann of Frederick, Md., and Paul Fiedler and wife Debbie of Clear Spring; three brothers, Mike Suleski, Ed Suleski and Joe Suleski, all of New Jeresy; four grandchildren, Joshua Fiedler of Clear Spring, Daniel Fiedler of Delaware, Sarah Fiedler of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Lindsay Fiedler of Clear Spring.

Helen was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Whitey Fiedler; two sisters, Clara Regal and Stella Bayuk, and two brothers, Billy and John Suleski.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. George A. Limmer officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
