Helen Elizabeth Spangler, 93, of Hagerstown, passed away,Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Julia Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown
Born January 14, 1923 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, George William and Irma Viola (Fox) Straub. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold E. Spangler and by nine siblings.
Mrs. Spangler was a long time member of Willow Brook Seventh Day Adventist Church, Boonsboro.
She retired as an under presser for the L'Aiglon and E.J. Fennels Dress Factories, Hagerstown.
She is survived by two sons, George W. Spangler and wife Dorine of Hagerstown and Edward E. Spangler and wife, Marilyn of Benton, TN.; six grandchildren, George Spangler II and wife Kristi, Tammi (Spangler) Fuller and husband, Howard, and Sean-Paul Spangler and wife Cassandra, all of Hagerstown, Bonnie (Spangler) Lemons and husband, Joe, Edward Spangler, II and wife, Kristy and Mark Spangler and wife, Lyndsey, all of Tennessee; thirteen great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Volodymyr Grinchenko officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
