Henrietta Betty Gray

Henrietta Betty Gray, 89, of Hagerstown, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Doey's House.
Born February 16, 1930 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Edith (Brewer) Baker.
She was a 1948 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a 1951 graduate of Washington County School of Nursing.
She worked as an RN, before devoting her time to her family as a homemaker.
Betty was a long time active member St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where she was proud of the work she did. For the last 18 years, she has been a member of First Christian Church, in Hagerstown.
She was also a member of the Nurse's Alumni Association. She loved to work in the yard and bake; especially her husband's favorite, hummingbird cake.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Jack A. Gray; a daughter, Marcia Goodrich and husband Stephen; a son, Mark Gray and wife Ann; a sister, Pamela Stottler; five grandchildren, Rebecca Shoemaker and husband Heath, Daniel Gray, William Gray, Benjamin Goodrich, and Casey Goodrich; and two great-grandchildren, Dawson and Tanner Shoemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant brother.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Maryland with Rev. William Gilroy officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery Columbarium.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
