Hilda Mae Bartles

Hilda Mae (Huff) Bartles, 77, of Hagerstown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 25, 2011, after a brief illness. She passed away at her home surrounded by her family.
Born Feb. 21, 1934, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Louring F. and Mabel E. (Morningstar) Huff.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, David L. Bartles, Oct. 25, 2005.
Hilda graduated from Hagerstown High School, class of 1952.
She retired from AT&T after 47 years of service as a telephone operator. After her retirement, she was employed as a receptionist at Arc of Washington County for 18 years.
She attended Calvary Brethren Church and Evangel Baptist Church.
Hilda is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Mae Bartles Starliper and husband, Stan Starliper, of Greencastle, Pa.; a son, David Duane Bartles of Warfordsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Lois Huff Overdorff and husband, the Rev. H. Glenn Overdorff, of New Brighton, Pa., and Nancy Huff Keplinger and husband, Paul L. Keplinger, of Hagerstown; a brother, the Rev. John F. Huff and wife, Sue Hauser Huff, of Waynesboro, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Dylynn Bartles and Journie Bartles.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Huff.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Ron Faith officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Leitersburg.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour before services.
