Jack Crunkleton

April 12, 1929 — September 4, 2018

Mr. Jack Preston Crunkleton a resident of St. Petersburg for approximately 55 years, died September 4, 2018 in Frederick, Maryland. He was 89 years old. He was the only son of the late Harry Preston Crunkleton and Lillian L. (Smith) Crunkleton.


Mr. Crunkleton was a retired accountant who worked up until his late 70s. He possessed an excellent work ethic his entire life and was an incredibly intelligent man who valued his salvation in Christ above all else. He has a history of being invested in his familys life as well as his churchs life.

He was born in Hagerstown, Maryland on April 12, 1929 and graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1947. He then went on to graduate from Hagerstown Business College in 1949. He married E. Marie Hardesty on March 17, 1950 and worked for Potomac Edison as a traveling auditor and later at Blue Ridge Bus Company as an accountant. Mr. Crunkleton was in the U.S.. Army from 1955-1958, serving in Germany.
He was the comptroller and a Vice President of the Crisp Realty Co. in St. Petersburg for almost 30 years. He then worked for S & R Fastener until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Marie, daughter Denise (Mike), granddaughter Jeni Trimmer (Aaron), and great-grandchildren Madison Trimmer and Devlin Trimmer. In addition, he is survived by his sister-in-law Suzye Davis and nephew, Brian Davis (Missy) and great-nephews Landon Davis and Christian Davis.

Jack loved his Lord and always was burdened to help others know the Peace he had come to know. For many years he loved writing a Christmas letter to his co-workers emphasizing the true meaning of the holiday. While never a demonstrative person, his family never doubted his love and devotion. He will be greatly missed.
