Jack Nelson Bennett

Jack N. Bennett, 81, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born April 10, 1934 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late James W. and Mary E. (Blair) Bennett.
He was a 1952 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
Jack worked as a patrolman for 10 years with the Hagerstown Police Dept. He retired in 1995 after 30 years as a supervisor for Mack Truck.
Jack enjoyed golf but loved the Orioles. His love of music was displayed through singing in the choir and karaoke.
In addition to his parents, Jack was also preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Poffenberger Bennett; second wife, Katherine S. Bennett; a daughter, Barbara Bennett; and a son, Scott Bennett.
He is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline "Jackie" Bennett, Sara Maglio; a grandson, Adam Maglio; a granddaughter, Amy Coughlin; two sisters, Beverly Smith, Betty Poffenberger; and a brother, James W. Bennett, Jr.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00am on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Community Grace Church, 5441 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle, PA., with the Rev. Paul Hutchinson officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.
