Jacqueline Elizabeth (Winters) Shifflett

Jacqueline Elizabeth (Winters) Shifflett, 74, of Greencastle, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born November 19, 1938 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Catherine Louise (Dunn) Winters.

Jacqueline was a 1957 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She attended Lane's Run Church in Clear Spring, MD.

Jacqueline had worked for the Western Maryland Railroad as a secretary, but retired after many years as a secretary for the State of Maryland with MCTC. She loved sewing and working with the children at church.

She is survived by her loving husband, David L. Shifflett, Sr.; three sons, John Baer, II and wife Pam of Greencastle, David Shifflett, Jr. of DE, Daniel Shifflett, Sr. and wife Lucille of Waynesboro; three daughters, Lana Cowgill of Hagerstown, Brenda Keeney and husband Larry of Falling Waters, Barbara Braner and husband Rodney of Falling Waters; a brother, Ronald Winters and wife Kathy of Hawaii; four sisters, Delores Seal of IN, Margaret Clark and husband Roger of Hagerstown, Betty Carter of Hagerstown, Barbara Snowberger and husband Kenny of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren, Rich Shifflett, Jr., Adam Shifflett, Robin Shifflett, Tristen Shifflett, David Shifflett, III, Daniel Shifflett, Jr., Larry Keeney, Jr., Jason Keeney, Rodney Braner; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, David Winters, and a grandson, Jason Stine.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Daniel Shifflett, Sr. and Rev. Richard Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Friday night from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
