James Wayne Shank

J. Wayne "Shanky" Shank, 75, of Hagerstown, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at his home.
Born Oct. 26, 1935, in Big Pool, Md., he was the son of the late Carl Thurston and Dorothy (Cameron) Shank.
Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He worked as a mechanic at the AG Center, formerly E.T. Cline and Son, for more than 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Ann (Jordan) Shank, who passed away on March 6, 2011.
Wayne is survived by three daughters, Vickie L. Jordan of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Christi A. Shank and April L. Shank, both of Hagerstown; a son, James J. Shank of Hagerstown, a sister, Patricia Carpenter, and two brothers, Daniel B. Shank and Robert Shank, all of Hagerstown; and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour before the service at the funeral home.
He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
