Jane (Baker) Long, 90, of Hagerstown, died, Sunday, May 26, 2013.
Born in 1923 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Baker and Blanche (Conrad) Baker Rouzer.
Mrs. Long was a 1940 graduate of Hagerstown High School and attended Hagerstown Business College.
She was employed as a secretary by Pangborn Corporation and later as an Executive Secretary to the President of Jamison Door Company. In the 1980s, she taught English as a Second Language at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Long of Roanoke, Va.; her cousin E. Lelani Moody and husband, Edson of Hagerstown; her nephew, Martin C. Bowers, his wife, Karen, and their daughter Jennifer, of Germantown, Md.; two great nephews, Ryan Avent, his wife, Lisa, and their two children Eleanor and Henry, of Arlington, Va. and Andrew Avent of New York City; numerous other relatives; and special friends Marj Cartwright, Judy Morehead, and Barbara Ullrich, all of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Long.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating. Graveside service to follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends a half-hour before the service at the funeral chapel.
