Jane Waneta Rock, 82, of Hagerstown, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 15, 1929, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Mary Ellen (Kreps) Alder.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Clifford E. â??Rockyâ? Rock, in 2004.
She was a homemaker, and previously worked for the Lâ??Aiglon Dress Factory and J.J. Newberry/McCroryâ??s.
She was a Golden member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday school class.
She also was a member of AARP.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald E. Blair and Dennis W. Blair, both of Hagerstown; one daughter, Trina M. Barr, also of Hagerstown; one sister, Helen L. Brashears of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ira L. Rock; a granddaughter, Samantha C. Rock; four sisters, M. Irene Swartz, Frances Hoover, Catherine Morningstar and Ruth Semler; and three brothers, James, Thomas and William Alder.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Clark D. Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m
