Janet Irene Jones, 84, of Hagerstown, Md. passed away, December 12, 2021, at Doey's House, Hagerstown.
Born August 3, 1937 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, Raymond C. Valentine and Iva R. (Shry) Valentine Smith. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. "Jack" Jones; step father, Robert L. "Smitty: Smith; two brothers, Raymond and Joe Valentine and one sister, Judith Sharer.
Mrs. Jones retired as a clerk-cashier for A & P Market and then Super Fresh Market, Hagerstown.
She attended Otterbein United Methodist Church, Hagerstown where she was active in the Morning Moments Womens Circle and the Dickens Fair. She was a past member of the Elks, Moose, Friends of Reeders and Smiling Sisters.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons, Harry W. Jones and wife, Laurie and Stanley L. Jones and wife, Milicent; five grandchildren, Tyler W. Jones and wife, Emily, Trey J. Jones, Austin L. Jones and fiance,Taylor Domenick, Sarah E. Jones, Dylan M. Jones and fiance, Audrey LaTour and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Janet's name to hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
