Janice LaRue Fisher

November 26, 1920 — January 7, 2011

Janice L. (Everitt) Fisher, 90, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Julia Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown.

Born Nov. 26, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Elsie Sprecher Everitt.

She was a licensed practical nurse and did private duty nursing for many years.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown, Md.

She is survived by her husband, James R. Fisher Jr., to whom she was married for more than 70 years; two sons, James R. Fisher III of Mount Storm, W.Va., and William E. Fisher and wife, Denese, of Hagerstown; a daughter, Jennifer Lee Fisher of Hagerstown; a sister, Alsetta Broadway of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, William E. Fisher II, Kimberly M. Fisher, Christina N. Martin, Stephanie Kendal and Kelli Fisher; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Order of St. Luke, Tri-State Chapter, and the Potomac Fish and Game Club Auxiliary. For many years, she was a volunteer at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., and Roxbury Correctional Institution.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Michael Louia officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour before the service at the funeral home
