Jeanette Leila (Rohrer) Statton
Jeanette Leila (Rohrer) Statton, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Golden Living Center.
Born May 12, 1927 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Karl W. and Jeanette (Berger) Rohrer.
She was a 1945 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
Jeanette worked as a homemaker.
She was a member of Fountain Head Country Club. She enjoyed the garden club, bowling, and especially loved golfing and playing bridge.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arthur Statton, who died in 2002. They were married on July 2, 1948. She was also preceded in dead by a sister, Ruth Davis and a brother, Karl "Bud" Rohrer, Jr.
She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Karn, of Hagerstown, Cynthia Desmond and husband Dennis, of Shelburn, NH; a brother, George Rohrer of Yelm, WA; four grandchildren, Traci Beckham and husband David of Hagerstown, Christopher Bowers of Glen Allen, VA, Erin Barber and husband Tom of North Attleboro, MA., Derek Desmond of Santa Monica, CA.; four great-grandchildren, Kerstin Beckham, Preston Beckham, Kylie Bowers, Blane Bowers; a niece, Donna Allen; several nephews, nieces and extended family members.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jeanette's name to the Washington County Humane Society, 13011 Maugansville Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21740 or to the charity of one's choice.
