Jeffrey Lynn Harshman

March 7, 1964 — May 13, 2012

Jeffrey Lynn Harshman, 48, of Hagerstown, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 13, 2012 as the result of an automobile accident.

Born March 7, 1964 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Lynn S. Harshman and Barbara Jean (Pryor) Leiboldt. He is survived by his step-father, Jim Leiboldt.

Jeffrey was a 1982 graduate of Smithsburg High School.

He worked as an administrative manager at the National Institute of Health and had just recently started a part time job as a bartender at the Dogpatch Tavern in Boonsboro.

He was a former member of ABATE of Maryland and a current member of the South Mt. Rod and Gun Club. Jeff was an avid Steeler's fan and loved the outdoors.

Surviving him is a daughter, Miranda D. Harshman of Hancock; a son, Dustin Lynn Harshman of Smithsburg; two sisters, Shannon Renee Doyle and husband Terry of Boonsboro, Penny Ann Fraker and husband Dan of Greencastle, PA.; a brother, Guy Harshman of Hawaii; two nephews, Staff Sgt. Ryan Harshman, Cody Doyle; a niece, Abby Fraker; a close friend, A. I. "Smitty" Smith and his companion Karen Shoemaker; and the mother of his children, Michelle D. Harshman Little of Hancock.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00am on Friday, May, 18, 2012 at Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, 11301 Meeting House Rd., Myersville, MD., with the ministers Tim and Donna Ritchey Martin officiating. The family would like to invite family and friends to the Williamsport American Legion, following the service. Feel free to bring a snack to share.

Friends will be received at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, from 6-9pm on Thursday evening.
