Jennie Marie Shaffer 95, Of Hagerstown, MD. Passed away peacefully on May13, 2022
Born March 21, 1927, in Hagerstown, MD. She was the daughter of the late Frank Wilbert Nield, Sr. and Margaret Anna (Heim) Nield.
Jennie was a life member of St. Andrews United Methodist church and life member of Morris Frock American Legion Auxiliary.
Jennie retired from Doubleday Co. In Smithsburg, MD, in 1987 with 25 years of service.
Jennie was an amazing, wonderful lady. She loved going out to eat and places with her grandson Julian who she adored. In early years she was way active at Morris Frock American legion Auxiliary functions, had many friends there.
She loved going on vacation with her daughter and family to her daughter’s beach house in S.C. she had a lot of fun times there.
Jennie is survived by her daughter Julie Funk and her husband Tom. Grandson Julian Funk; and brother Frank W. Nield, Jr.
She preceded in death by her loving husband Julius J. Shaffer who passed away on September 7, 1982, with 35 years of marriage; 3 sisters Catherine Rowe, Margaret Myers, Anna Grace Wilson, and brother Arthur Nield.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania ave Hagerstown, Maryland. Thursday May, 19 at 10:00 am with pastor Christopher Serufusa officiating.
Memorial donations may be sent to a charity of choice.
