Jerome Stuart Gardiner

Jerome Stuart Gardiner, 84, of Hagerstown, passed away, Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born October 13, 1932 in Odenton, Maryland. He was the son of the late, Paul L. and Mary Alma (Rumney) Gardiner. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Faye (Rider) Gardiner and one sister, Mary Ellen Correll.
Mr. Gardiner had worked for 30 years in management in the trucking industry and retired with 23 years of service as superintendent of the parking system for the City of Hagerstown.
He was a former member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by one daughter, Ellen D. Shank of Hagerstown; three sons, Paul D. Gardiner and Jeffrey L. Gardiner, both of Hagerstown and Mark C. Gardiner of Waynesboro, Pa.; five grandchildren and one great grandson.
Private Graveside services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
