Johanna Elizabeth Coursey, 70, of Hagerstown, passed away, Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her home.
Born April 4, 1943 in Hustontown, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Leroy Ellis and Beatrice Elizabeth (Shaw) Snyder.
In addition to being a mother and homemaker she also had worked in the cafeteria at the Maugansville Elementary School for 15 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Joanne DeHart of Hagerstown and Betty Hull of Fannettsburg, Pa.; two sons, Russell D. Coursey, Jr. of Maugansville and Michael Coursey and wife Rochelle of Mercersburg, Pa.; a step daughter, Susan Newcomer of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Shane Michael Coursey and Kenneth Hauck; a great granddaughter, Kendra Hauck and a step granddaughter, Nichole Newcomer.
In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her step father, Richard Shearer; her loving husband, Russell D. Coursey, Sr.; two sons in law, Anthony DeHart and Steven Hull.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor James Stauffer officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-9 P.M.
