John E. Walling, 74, of Hagerstown, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born May 10, 1941 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Josephine Elizabeth (Riley) and Charles H. Walling, Sr.
He was a long time self-employed contractor.
John is survived by his two sisters, Anna Mae Knight, Doris L. Shatzer; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by four brothers, Harry J., James M., George M., and Charles Walling, Jr.; and four sisters, Ruth E. Myers, Betty J. Oberholzer, Josephine E. Divelbiss, Evelyn Billig; and several aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 6-8pm.
