John Meredith Dickinson, Jr.

John Meredith Dickinson, Jr., 61, of Greencastle, PA passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born on April 3, 1960 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of John Meredith Dickinson, Sr., and the late Willow Grace (Kline) Dickinson.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by Sister; Kimberly Jarvis and Brother; Jeffrey Dickinson.
John graduated from North Hagerstown High School, class of 1978. He attended HCC and was just a few credits short of getting his B.S. in Engineering, but was too busy and dedicated to taking care of his family and supporting his wife in obtaining her nursing degree.
John worked as an engineerer for JLG and was employed there for 35 years.
He was a member of Greencastle Sportsman Club.
John loved working with his hands. He always had a project going and had ten others to fall back on. He enjoyed leathering, 3D puzzles, building his kit car, and riding his Harley Davidson.
His granddaughter was the light of his eye and he looked forward to teaching his grandson how to hunt and work on cars.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Eileen Marie (Flannery) Dickinson, Daughters; Jennifer Dickinson, Erin Dickinson and wife Tara, Granddaughter; Rhyan Dickinson and Grandson Liam Dickinson.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11AM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 with Pastor James Gross officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Family will receive friends the evening prior from 6-8 PM.
