John Milton May

John Milton May, 88, of Hagerstown, passed away, Monday, April 8, 2013 at the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born March 25, 1925 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late, William Henry, Jr. and Susan Elizabeth (Stotler) May, also preceded by his cousins who raised him, Ralph and Clara May.
Mr. May was a US Army veteran of WW II.
He retired in the maintenance department at Potomac Edison.
Mr. May was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.
He is survived by one daughter, Lois A. Hollar and husband David of Hagerstown; two brothers, Lloyd and Kenny May, both of Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Douglas S. and Daniel S. Hollar both of Hagerstown and four great grandchildren, Kera J., Seth D., Toby S. and Audrey D. Hollar.
In addition to his parents and cousins, he also was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alene Elton (Hofe) May; three brothers, Clarence May, Wilbur Stotler and Donald May and by one sister, Marion Holtry.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Clark D. Carr officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest haven Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Maryland National Guard and AmVets Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to the Grace United Methodist Church, 712 W. Church St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
