John Wayne Bussard, 71, of Mount Ulla, N.C., passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord, N.C.
Born March 19, 1942, in Breathedsville, Md., he was the son of Margaret Fae Baker Bussard Campbell of Williamsport, Md., and the late John Francis Bussard, who was killed in World War II, and the late Herbert Edwin Campbell.
He retired from residential construction.
He was a member of Kannapolis Church of God, and was a member and past president of the Millbridge Ruritan Club.
In addition to his fathers, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Younker.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Helen Marie Fahey Bussard; daughter, Margaret Baxter and husband, Andrew, of Maynard, Mass.; son, John Butch Bussard and wife, Lynne, of Mount Ulla; sister, Evalyn Marie Kochanik and husband, Randall, of Marlton, N.J.; brother, David Campbell and wife, Pamela, of Fairplay, Md.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Md.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Millbridge Ruritan Club Scholarship Fund, 490 Sloan Road, Mount Ulla, NC 28125.
