Josephine Dale Morrow

Josephine Dale Morrow, 95, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at Ravenwood Lutheran Village.
Born February 15, 1920 in Shepherdstown, WV., she was the daughter of the late William H. and Reika E. (Licklider) Morrow.
Josephine was a 1937 graduate of Hagerstown High School, where she graduated a year early as she had skipped a grade because of her advanced mathematic skills.
She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, where she had previously taught Sunday school. She was a former member of the Business and Professional Women and was an avid gardener. Her family will remember her delicious vegetable soup and being the 'green bean queen'.
Josephine retired from GunnAllen Financial as a financial planner. She previously worked for Victor Products, Maryland General, and Investor Diversified Services. She was a respected and successful trail blazer for women in a man's field of finance and investment and commanded the respect of her peers and clients. She was a recipient of many awards for her knowledge and hard work.
She is survived by two dedicated and loyal nieces, Barbara Mumma, Robin Alvord; nephews, William H. Morrow III and Scott R. Alvord; five great nieces and great nephews, Christopher B. Mumma, Jon H. Mumma, Amy C. Haught, Matthew Alvord, and David Alvord.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, William H. Morrow, II; her sister, Margaret V. Reddig; nephew Lamont (Monty) Mumma and her dear friends, Jean Paylor and Alice Bohrer.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Patrick Ricker officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
