Joyce LaBelle Resley, 85, of Williamsport, Md., died Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md., surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 19, 1933, in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late Millard Elmond "Bill" Shank and Dorothy LaBelle Speck Shank.
She graduated from Clear Spring High School in 1951 and from Hagerstown Business College.
Joyce had been the owner of The Windmill Shop, a womens clothing boutique, in Hagerstown. She previously had been employed with Fairchild Industries.
She was a member of the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church of Williamsport.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Joy Lynn Akers and her husband, Anthony Lee Akers, of Williamsport; son Warren Alan Resley of Durham, N.C.; and grandchildren Ryan Lee Akers and his special friend, Elizabeth Ashley Roane, of Williamsport; Christina Lynn Palmer and her husband, Dustin Lynn Palmer, of Smithsburg, Md.; Brittany Maria Akers and her special friend, Jacob Alan Wise, of Hagerstown; and Briana Katherine Akers of Williamsport. She also is survived by her great granddaughter Hailee Brielle Palmer, step-great grandchildren Kaydince Marie Palmer and Jacob Michael Palmer, all of Smithsburg, and sisters Gloria Arlene Funkhouser of Williamsport and Linda Lou Henson of Clear Spring.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Warren Alonzo Resley, her brother Elmond Wayne Shank, and her grandson Anthony Lee Akers II.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, at the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Drive, Williamsport, Md. Rev. Mark Sandell will officiate. A graveside service will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
Family will receive friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
