Judith Maureen (Hager) Slate

Judith Maureen (Hager) Slate, 80, of Maugansville, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 27, 1939 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Vivian E. (Bean) Knick and Maurice R. Hager.
She attended Hagerstown High School and went back to obtain her GED at the age of 60.
Judy worked for over 30 years for Reisner Manufacturing, wiring organs. She went to work for BioWhittaker as a supervisor in Frederick, Maryland. Judy retired after 17 years as supervisor at the North Pointe CVS.
She was a proud member of the Hagerstown Red Hat Society. She loved to travel with her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George B. Slate; four children, Steven Slate and wife Margie, Debora Gilbert, Robert D. Slate, and Dora Acre and husband Terry; two sisters, Beverly Suder and husband Wink, Carol Lee McCreath; six grandchildren, Tressa, Todd, Brooks, Robby, Randy, Cole; and 10 great-grandchildren, Amia, Taitym, Kyler, Breonna, Austin, McKenna, Trinity, Kyleigh, Mikayla, and Asher. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and again following the burial for a luncheon.
Memorial contributions may be made in Judy's name to Hospice of Washington County, c/o Doey's House, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
