Karen Debra Pompell, 59, of Hagerstown, passed away, August 1, 2017 surrounded by her husband and children at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore.
Born October 6, 1957 in Alexandria, Virginia she was the daughter of the late, Lynn and Betty D. (Hampton) Flowers.
Karen had worked in manufacturing for Parker Plastics, Hagerstown. As well as over 20 years of service to the local autistic community.
She was a member of Lifehouse Church, Hagerstown.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Robert Lee Pompell; three children, Glenda Hendershott and husband, John of Big Cove Tannery, Pa., Betty Pompell of Intercourse, Pa. and David Pompell of Hagerstown; two sisters, Glenda Herzog and husband, Ron of Coral Gables, Fla and Janet Smoot and husband, Larry of Mt. Jackson, Va. and six grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Hagerstown Bible Church, 203 Summit Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Dale Carver officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Karen's name to P.R.A.Y., Providing Relief for Autistic Youth, 20301 Barbara Dr., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
