Kathaleen Virginia (Wallace) Hammer, 98, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, July 28th, at Western Maryland Hospital Center.
Born June 22, 1916, in Detroit, MI. she was the daughter of the late George and Blanche Matilda (Finn) Wallace.
She was of the Catholic faith and was a 1934 graduate of St. Theresa High School in Detroit, MI.
Kathaleen had worked for the Board of Education in Annapolis, Frederick and Washington County in the field of Special Education retiring in 1975.
She was married to William O. Hammer on August 26, 1939 who preceded her in death February 8, 1977.
Survived by two sons William W. and Richard J. Hammer both of Hagerstown, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren a daughter in law Benelle Hammer of Smithsburg and a very close friend Louise Luther of Hagerstown.
She was also preceded in death by a son Robert L. Hammer on April 14, 2014, a sister Rosemary Wallace McWilliams and a brother Finn Wallace.
Services will be private.
