Kelly Ann (Ruppert) Malekar, 24, of Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011.

Born Jan. 24, 1987, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Julie (Leedy) Ruppert and Travers B. Ruppert and stepdaughter of Rita Ruppert, all of Hagerstown.

She was a 2005 graduate of Ebenezer Christian School in Halfway.

Kelly was a very talented artist and could often be found painting or drawing. She loved to read, and she loved all animals, especially her pets, Bear, Lloyd, Charlie, Marble and BooBoo.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by husband, David Malekar, and mother-in-law, Donna Malekar, of Hagerstown; a brother, Travers Michael Ruppert and wife, Liane Ruppert, of Baltimore; grandparents, Yvonne and Harry Golliday of Hagerstown, Donna and Richard Allen of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Marion and James Mills of Chambersburg, Pa.; great-grandmother, Ruth V. Davis of Hagerstown; great-aunt, Amy Haines of Hagerstown; great-uncles, Gene Willard of Hagerstown, Noel Ruppert and wife, Carey, of Savannah, Ga.; aunts and uncles, Brandon Pile and wife, Mary Ann, of Martinsburg, W.Va., Debbie Brezler of Hagerstown, Chuck Leedy of Hagerstown, Kathy Vinson and husband, John, of Lovettsville, Va.; cousins, Ronnie, Kristin and David Brezler, Ashley and Emily Leedy, all of Hagerstown, Angela Vinson of Weekawken, N.J., Brad Vinson of Baltimore, Kaidyn and Kierstyn Pile and Christopher Jarrett, all of Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Joseph Travers Ruppert; maternal grandfather, Charles Clinton Leedy Sr.; and great-aunt, Rose Willard.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor W. Gregory Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Family and friends will be received Saturday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
