Lawrence M. Larry French

Lawrence "Larry" M. French, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at Charlotte's Home.
Lawrence was born in Hagerstown, on February 6, 1936, a son of the late Mable E. (Forman) and Hillard W. French. In addition to his parents, Lawrence is also preceded in death by his brother, Leonard R. French.
Lawrence was a proud member of the class of 1954 of Hagerstown High School and was very caring about his classmates.
Lawrence was a veteran in the U.S. Air force.
He was employed at the Bendix Corp. and NASA where he was a team member for the Apollo 11, the first lunar landing mission. Later he was employed with the federal government as a quality assurance representative.
Lawrence was a member of the American Legion Post 42, the Elks, and the Beaver Creek Country Club.
Lawrence is survived by a niece Kristy Kahn and husband Steve; 2 nephews Mike French and Scott French; and 4 great nephews Luke Kahn, Noah Kahn, Daniel French, and Mike French.
Friends and family will be received from 6-8 pm on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc. 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Interment will held privately in Rest Haven Cemetery.
