LeRoy Kreps

LeRoy Kreps, 80, of Clear Spring, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born Oct. 15, 1930, in Clear Spring, he was the son of the late Roscoe Kreps and Florence (Everitts) Kreps of Williamsport.

He attended Clear Spring High School.

He retired as a Teamster after 30 years. He was a member of local Teamsters Union 992.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris Jean Kreps; children, Randy Kreps of Plentywood, Mont., Greg Kreps of Clear Spring, Jeff Kreps of Great Mills, Md., Rodney Kreps of Hagerstown and Cindy Kreps Tatom of Virginia Beach, Va.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; sister, Phyllis Kreps Skidmore of Williamsport; and brothers, Frederick Kreps of Montgomery, Ala., and Roscoe (Buck) Kreps of Falling Waters, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Kreps; and a sister, Pearl Louise Kreps.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Timothy Lester officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m. Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
