Leda Mae Baer, 99, of Hagerstown, passed away Wednesday, December 23rd, at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro.
Born July 31,1921 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mazie (Woods) Elgin.
Leda was a 1940 graduate from Hagerstown High school and retired from the Maryland Ribbon Company in Hagerstown and also enjoyed bingo and horse racing.
She is survived by her daughters Gloria Jean Barber and Charleda M. Shoemaker both of Hagerstown, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a brother Richard Elgin and wife Nancy of Hagerstown.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Daniel A. Baer, husband Charles D. Baer, Jr., sisters Evlynn Lushbaugh and Wanda Sprecher, brothers Leon,Eddie and Jimmy Elgin.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 5th at 1:00PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Due to COVID restrictions, facial coverings and social distancing are required.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
