Lena M. Reid

Lena M. Reid, 87 of Williamsport, formerly of Frederick, passed away, Monday, April 30, 2012, at Williamsport Nursing Home.
Born July 27, 1924 in Goldsboro, North Carolina and raised in Farmville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late, Luther L. Nash and Mollie (Faris) Nash Madison.
Lena retired with 21 years of service as a teller with Citizen's Bank of Maryland, Hyattsville. She was later employed by The Catholic University, D.C. and the Bon-Ton, Frederick.
She was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren and was a volunteer at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Nelson F. Reid of Redondo Beach, CA and Richard M. Reid of Falling Waters, WV; seven grandchildren, Nelson F. Reid, Jr. of CA, Jeanice Chastain of IN, Jodi Portera Bergeron of LA, Elaine Wolford of Greencastle, PA, Corey E. Reid and Dustin J. Reid both of CA, and Virginia Reid of LaVale, MD.; fifteen great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson E. Reid in 1979; one sister, Elizabeth Hasselbarth and one brother, Luther M. Nash.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown
Interment will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
