Leslie Ernest Fernandes

Leslie Ernest Fernandes, 62, of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
Born July 14, 1951 in Karachi, Pakistan, he became a US citizen 2012. He was the son of the late Dominic E. and Barbara M. (Bird) Fernandes. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by one sister, Lorraine Barlow.
Mr. Fernandes was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
He retired as a journeyman drywall finisher belonging to the IUPAT Local 411, Harrisburg, Pa.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Tammy Sue (Simmons) Fernandes; three children, Leslie Leonard Fernandes of Manassas, Va., April Lynn Fernandes, and Priscilla Ann Fernandes, both of Hagerstown; one granddaughter, Ariana Lorraine Middledorf; two brothers, Giorgio Fernandes and wife Cathleen of Woodbridge, Va. and Leonard Fernandes and wife, Connie of Spotsylvania, Va.; two sisters, Veronica Gardner and husband, Nick of Springfield, Va. and Loretta Davis and husband Mark of Chambersburg, Pa.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Greg Ferri officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
