Lois Lorraine Hutzell

April 7, 1925 — December 25, 2016

Lois Lorraine Hutzell, 91 of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Williamsport Retirement Center.

Born April 7, 1925 in St. James, Maryland she was the daughter of the late, Adrian Newton Deibert, Sr. and Edna Mae (Lynch) Deibert. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Hutzell; one brother, Adrian N. "Tony" Deibert, Jr. ;a daughter in law, Judy Hutzell and a grandson in law, Craig Crowl

Mrs. Hutzell was a bookkeeper for S.J. Gower, Community Action Council, Jamison Door Company and 40 years was the administrative secretary for St. John's Episcopal Church.

She was a lifelong member of St. James Brethren Church and served on the national and district boards of the Brethren Church. She enjoyed and participated in the choral groups, The Sweet Adeline's, The St. James Sextets and The HarmonL's.

Mrs. Hutzell is survived by three children, Nelson Hutzell of Hagerstown, Phillip Hutzell (Donna) of Hedgesville, W.Va. and Brenda Shanholtz (Darryl) of Clear Spring; one sister, Lillian Patton of Williamsport; eight grandchildren, Mark, Kelly, Kara (Joseph Bowers, Jr.), Tina (Jeff O'Neal) Teresa Crowl (James Wilhelm), Kristin (Lance Long), Katie (Alan Barnes) and Kimberly Cantley; ten great grandchildren, Jessica Hutzell, Zachary and Zoie O'Neal, Mandi Crowl, Megan Shives (Cory), Hailee, Avery and Isaac Long, Kaylin and Kasen Cantley; two great great grandchildren, Sofia and Stella Shives and and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 30, 2016 at St. James Brethren Church at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Tim McMillan officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Lois's name to St. James Brethren Church, 17718 Lappans Rd., Fairplay, MD 21733.
