Luis Rafael Medina, 44, of Keedysville, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore.
Born May 22, 1969 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, he was the son of Guisella (Barillas) Withers of Keedysville.
He was a 1990 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
Luis worked as a stocker at County Market and also helped in the bakery. He volunteered at the Western Maryland Hospital center, helping with patients. Luis was involved with ARC of Washington County.
In addition to his mother, Guisella Withers, he is also survived by three aunts, Emma, Amy, and Sylvia; and one uncle, Alcides.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mario Roberto Medina; and an uncle, Jose Vidal Barillas.
A mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church, 121 N Main St, Boonsboro, with the Rev. Collin Poston and Rev. John Jicha officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8pm on Monday at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Maryland.
