M. Wayne Warrenfeltz

December 18, 1940 — September 3, 2011

M. Wayne Warrenfeltz, age 70, passed away Saturday evening Sept. 3, 2011 at his residence in Centerburg, Oh. after a long illness.? He was preceded in death by parents Milton O. and Mary E. (Poffenberger) Warrenfeltz.

Wayne is survived by Patricia (Snowberger) Warrenfeltz, his wife of 51 years; son Curtis Warrenfeltz of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters Sharon Newcomer of Ringgold, Md., Debra Warrenfeltz of Delaware, Oh., and Julie Zubiate of Carmel, In.; and their families, including 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons.

Wayne graduated from Smithsburg High School in 1958. He worked at the Superior Dairy and the 7-UP Bottling Co. in his early years. He then worked in the family business, Warrenfeltz Distributorâ??s, then leased the Leitersurg Exxon for 5 years, followed by his own business, Wayneâ??s Auto & Truck Repair, for another 6. In 1994, Wayne and Pat semi-retired to Woodlake Village in Murrells Inlet, SC, where he enjoyed being a charter boat captain for another 14 years.

In 2007, Wayne and Pat retired to Centerburg, Ohio.?? He made many friends along the way and had tales to tell from all walks of life.

Along with his favorite sports of hunting and fishing, Wayne was a member of the Church of Christ and the Seniorâ??s Center in Centerburg, Oh. He was also a former member of a the Ruritan Club and Church of Christ in Ringgold, MD.; the Fish & Game and Eagles Club in Waynesboro, PA.; the BPOE Elks Club in Hagerstown, Md.; and the Woodlake Village POA in Murrells Inlet, SC.

A memorial service, led by pastor Jerry Timbrook, will be held at 1pm on Saturday, Sept 17 at Rest Haven Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Knox County, 17700 Coshocton Road, Mt. Vernon, OH 43050.
