Mark Duane Renner

Mark Duane Renner, 59, of Hagerstown MD, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center. Born January 27, 1961, at Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Herbert F. Renner, Jr. and Carolyn Y. Poffenberger Renner.
He was a 1979 graduate of Heritage Academy, Hagerstown, MD. He was employed by Maryland Correctional Training Center as a correctional officer from 2010 until his death. He was in partnership with his father in Renner‘s Renovation and Repair from 1989 until 2010.
Mark was a beloved and devoted son, brother, husband, uncle, father and grandfather. He was known for his dry sense of humor, quick wit, and ability to make everyone laugh. He enjoyed construction projects, woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his dogs. He was a kind and gentle person who was a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Renner, of Hagerstown; a son, Ryan Renner and his wife Stephanie, of Charlestown WV; a daughter, Christina Marie Renner, of Hagerstown; two brothers, David E. Renner and his wife Patty, of Hamilton, VA, and Timothy M. Renner and his wife Linda, of Woodbridge, VA; two sisters, Pamela S. Sprecher and her husband Jay, of Afton, WY, and Brenda J. Sweigert and her husband Douglas, of Woodbine, MD; and four grandchildren, Kaden Aleyah, Tarek, and Arabella.
He was loved, admired and respected by many nieces and nephews, stepchildren and grandchildren, as well as numerous friends and coworkers.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 12:00 PM, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD., with Rev. Tim Renner officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM, at Rest Haven Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 2, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM . Due to Covid-19 restrictions, face masks and social distancing are required and funeral home capacity is 50 people at one time.
