Mary Catherine Beggarly

Mary Catherine (Reel) Beggarly, 78, of Hagerstown, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Sept. 8, 1933, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Edith Elizabeth Johnson.
Mary was a 1951 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown.
Mary loved the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, and volunteered as an usher for many years at The Maryland Theatre.
She retired as a central service technician for Washington County Hospital as well as Robinwood Medical Center after more than 30 years. After retirement, she worked for Washington County Public Schools in the food service department for seven years.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Chris Miller of Greencastle, Pa., Karin Powell and Carol â??Susieâ? Leidahl; two sisters, Vivian R. Hicks and Wilda R. Gift; two brothers, Samuel J. Reel Jr. and Franklin J. Reel, all of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 29, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Maryâ??s name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
