Mary Catherine Rader, 71, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Leesburg, Fl., Friday, Aug. 17, 2018.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 18, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Mary Catherine and George Paul Heidecker. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Elizabeth Heidecker.
Mary attended Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse. She worked as an RN for over 40 years, serving patients with exceptional care and kindness in Baltimore and Frederick, Md., and Tavares, Fl.
Mary was known for her giving spirit and sense of humor. She was the ultimate hostess, opening her home to share her hospitality and marvelous cooking. She loved to spend time in her flower garden, and chat on the phone with friends and family.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Catherine "Kate" Rader and fianc Brian Starliper and his sons Brady and Dylan; son, William Andrew Rader; beloved twin sister, Georgeann Fiedler and husband Al; dear friends Jo Ann and Bobby Richmond; life partner of 25 years Alan Pedersen; his children, Jennifer Daniels, husband Frank and their children, Michael, Kevin and Brian; and Jonathan Pedersen, wife Amy and their children, Caroline and Jack. The grandchildren were all loved tremendously by their Mimi.
The family will be receiving friends at 12 noon on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Md. A memorial service and Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m.
