Mary Charlotte Hunt

Mary Charlotte Hunt, 87, of Hagerstown passed away, Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Maryland; where she has resided since 2009.

Born February 26, 1927 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Iliff Warren and Etta V. (Staley) Grubb. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of over 49 years, William V. (Shad) Hunt; a son, Ronald Vincent Hunt; a sister, Pearl Louise Hoover; and a brother, Iliff Warren Grubb, Jr.

Mary had a short working career but excelled as a homemaker throughout her adult life. Her homemaking skills were passed on to her children and grandchildren. Her blonde brownie recipe has been shared with all of her family. She will be greatly missed not only by her family but by all those who met her throughout her life.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hagerstown.

She is survived by sons William V. "Mace" Hunt, Jr. and wife Barbara , John P. Hunt and wife Denise , Philip M. Hunt and wife Debra, all of Hagerstown; daughters Donna R. Hunt of Baltimore and Angela M. McCleaf and husband Craig of Smithsburg.

She is also survived by a sister, Mildred A. McCauley, of Hagerstown; granddaughter Gwendolyn Hunt of Williamsport, Md.; and nineteen other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 15, 2014, at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown with Father, Larry Adamczyk officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 P.M. and on Monday, one hour prior to services.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate Mary's life will be held at a future date.
