Mary Ellen Keedy

Mary Ellen Keedy, 97, of Hagerstown, passed away, Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born May 5, 1922 in the Township of Brooklyn, Green Lake County, Wisconsin she was the daughter of the late, John E. and Ellen (Robinson) Hockenhull. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Robert Augustus Keedy in November of 2018. one brother, John Hockenhull; a granddaughter, Megan Rothwell and a great granddaughter, Athena Juliette Thayil.
Mrs. Keedy was a graduate of Berlin High School and Ripon College in Wisconsin.
She was a homemaker and a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, Hagerstown where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women. She volunteered at Community Action Council Meals on Wheels and the Western Maryland Hospital Center Canteen. Her hobbies include birding, sewing and reading.
Mrs. Keedy is survived by one daughter, Betty Willson and husband, Richard of Hagerstown; one son, Charlie Keedy and wife, Peggy of Austin TX; one sister, Frances Ralff of Colorado; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to John Wesley United Methodist Church,129 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
