Mary Irene Hamilton

Mary Irene (Stafford) Hamilton, 79, of Boonsboro, Md, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Somerford Assisted Living in Hagerstown, Md.
Born May 21, 1935, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Adam Cornelius and Myrtha Pearl (Rice) Stafford.
Mary was a member of Boonsboro First Christian Church and was involved with the Manor Church Senior Citizens Club. Mary also enjoyed traveling, boating, and fishing in her spare time. She was employed as a secretary at the Department of the Army at Ft. Ritchie.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Gary W. Hamilton, a brother, Floyd Stafford, two sisters, Wilma Lantz and Ruth Snider; and a brother-in-law, Homer Snider.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Earl A. Hamilton; two sons, Dale L. Hamilton and wife Terry K.of Boonsboro Md., and Terry L. Hamilton of Plymouth Meeting, PA.; one brother, Roy Stafford and wife Eloise of Corrigansville, Md.; a sister-in-law, Betty Stanford; a brother-in-law Donald Lantz, both of Cumberland Md.; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Dean Miller officiating.
Friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Hospice of Washington County.
