Mary Jane Koontz

November 6, 1920 — May 11, 2011

Mary Jane Koontz, 90, of Boonsboro, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at her home, where she was under family and hospice care.

Born Nov. 6, 1920 in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Goldie (Mann) Repp.

She had worked as a hand sewer for the L'Aiglon and Ross garment factories in Hagerstown.

She was a member of the Kasiesville Bible Church in Mercersburg, Pa., where she had been Sunday school secretary for many years.

Mrs. Koontz loved her family, gardening, flowers and birds.

She is survived by three daughters, Regina Angle of Greencastle, Pa., Sonja L. Blair and husband, Irvin, of Hagerstown, and Patricia Repp and husband, Jack, of Clear Spring; one sister, Ethel Mowen of Chambersburg, Pa.; one brother, Gene Repp of Clear Spring; 13 grandchildren, Steven Angle of Greencastle, Terry Angle of Waynesboro, Pa., James Blair of Clear Spring, Lisa Barnhart of Gerrardstown, W.Va., Susan Kolb of Hedgesville, W.Va., Richard Thomas of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Todd Angle of Chambersburg, Dina Norris, Matthew Blair and Shawn Blair, all of Clear Spring, Darrin Angle of Shippensburg, Pa., Shane Thomas of Big Pool, Md., and Eric Blair of Boonsboro; 16 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest L. Koontz, and one brother, Richard Repp.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 16, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Ben Fisler officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
