Mary Jo (Clatterbuck) Ashburn, 82, of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 3, 1936 in Deer Park, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Edward Clifton and Anna Gertrude (Rafferty) Clatterbuck.
Mary Jo retired as a school teacher from the Washington County Public Schools. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown and the Retired Teachers Association. She was founder of Friends of Education Exchange Club.
In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, listening to music, and shopping
Mary Jo is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Darwin "Dave" W. Ashburn; a daughter, Julie Ann Figel and husband Robert; and two grandchildren, Brandon M. Figel and Gabrielle A. Figel.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Jo Ashburn; and a son, Kevin W. Ashburn.
A mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9pm on Friday at the funeral home.
