Michael Lee Couture, 49, of Smithsburg, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Gail P. (Rogers) Couture; a son, Joseph L. Rogers, (spouse Amanda); mother Sharon Bradt (spouse Tara O’Mara) his brother, Joseph Xavier, stepmother Brenda Howe, three step sisters, Nancy, Heidi, and Brixie; four grandchildren, Christopher, Gabe, Elijah, and Atyana; and several nieces, nephews and numerous other family members.
Born on June 15, 1966 in Pontiac, Michigan, to Sharon Lee Bradt and the late Joseph Francis Xavier Couture, III. He lived in Michigan until he joined the US Army in 1987. After completing his service Michael was employed by the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, retiring after 25 years as a Lieutenant. After retirement he joined the Franklin County Jail where he was employed until his death.
He was involved with GORC Soccer in Anne Arundel County, where he coached numerous teams for over ten years. Mike loved dogs, traveling, hunting, and golf. He was a diehard 'Michigander'. He loved the Wolverines, the Detroit Lions, the Tigers, and the Red Wings.
Friends will be received Saturday February 6, 2016 from 11:00 – 1:00 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown MD Services immediately following.
Mike was loved by all and will be missed by many.
