Mildred I. Slusher

Mildred I. (Henson) Slusher, 94, of Hagerstown, passed away on March 4, 2019 at her home of 70 years.
Born October 5, 1924 in Pinesburg, MD, she was the daughter of late Alfred Henson Sr. and Amanda I. (Nave) Henson.
Mildred retired in 1985 from Corning Glass of Greencastle after 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Oliver B. Slusher, who died in 1991; her first husband, Wilbur Orville Pearman, who died in 1948; sisters, Mary "Sis" Beaver, Anna Mae Stains, Nancy Baggarly; brothers, Jim Henson, Harry Henson, Walter Henson, Alfred Henson Jr. "Jiggs", Frank Henson; and a grandson, Travis Showe.
Mildred is survived by a daughter, Anna Ruppert and husband Frank; a son, Stephen Slusher and wife Rosalee; a sister, Betty Forsythe; a brother, Fred Henson; four grandchildren, Tina Morris, Trent Showe and wife Angel, Peggy Ramano and husband John, Sherri Sams and husband Corey; 12 great-grandkids, Amber Gonzales and husband Jeremiah, Seth Morris, Dillon Hutson, Dalton Showe, Shelly Morris and husband Lynn Shank, Bobbie Jo Morris, John Michael, Chris Burleson, Tyler Ponder, Tristan, Karegan and Kincaide Sams; seven great-great-grandkids, Adalynn Gonzales, Lane Gonzales, Tyler and Casey Shank, Elizabeth and Jacob Ecker, Daniel Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Pastor Douglas Forsythe of New Hope Alliance Church will be officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Washington County.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice and to caregiver Kim Hildebrand for her caring and support.
